Mountain Meadow Mushroom Farms

Mountain Meadow Mushroom Farms is a second generation family owned and operated farm located at the north end of Broadway in Escondido. It was first established as a mushroom farm in the early 50's and was purchased by the Crouch family in 1982. Using the philosophies of hard work, saving money and spending only on things which led to better mushrooms, the farm has grown from a small “200lb per week operation” to one which today produces over 100K lbs per week. In 2006 Gary's father retired and passed down the business to the next generation, and so it was Gary Crouch and then General Manager, Roberto Ramirez acquired the farm.

Gary & Roberto who have been involved in and worked at the farm over the last 15 years, continue today with that same work ethic and philosophy. In addition, as responsible members of their community and the Mushroom Industry, it is their commitment to be respectable stewards of our earth’s precious resources. It is their goal to manage the company not only to be profitable, but to support responsible and viable methods of recycling and uses of their resources. They believe it is their responsibility to further promote and educate the community about the ever shrinking local farming scene and to expand in every way possible the consumer demand for “Locally Fresh” mushrooms as well all fruits and vegetables.
